The Story

On a fresh, dewy morning in August 2013, Rob Chantry asked Lucy Collison to be his wife in the breathtaking setting of the New Forest. Over a year later, the pair are married and getting ready to spend their first year as husband and wife travelling the world together.

We were so happy to be a part of this gorgeous couple’s wedding. Lucy was a beautiful bride inside and out. We were thrilled to have the chance to catch up with her and find out how her big day went.

Lucy The Bride

Lucy’s wedding dress was ‘Misty’ by Suzanne Neville. A stunning ivory satin and lace empire line gown, with scalloped edging and a classic column skirt. After trying on several truly beautiful gowns, she told us choosing the right one seemed easy. Lucy says, ‘your first trip to The Bride feels like you’re in a movie’. We think she looked absolutely exquisite.

Lucy Bride

After a beautiful ceremony at St. Peter’s Church on June 14th 2014, the wedding party and guests headed to St. Michael’s Manor for the reception. Lucy and Rob sang the Manor’s praises, claiming their day could not have been more perfect. This grand, romantic and utterly beautiful venue treated guests to delicious food, great wine, and a fabulous evening of dancing. The hotel even boasts it’s own Lily Pad Lake. Can you think of anywhere more perfect to enjoy your wedding? Lucy and Rob took over the hotel for the entire night with 60 of their guests booking every luxurious room available.

Lucy Wedding Day

Lucy says they didn’t follow any strict theme when planning their wedding. They went with a ‘everything that looks nice theme’, selecting their colours, bridesmaids dresses, table decorations etc, based simply on what they found and fell in love with.

The cake was designed by the bride herself but turned into a delicious 5-tiered masterpiece by Stunning Cakes. Each tier had it’s own flavour, from classic fruitcake, to chocolate, to lemon, to carrot and finally to rainbow cake. It’s safe to say guests were spoilt for choice.

Lucy Real Brides Wedding Reception

After a wonderful wedding day, the couple have settled into married life and have started planning the trip of a lifetime. Lucy and Rob will be spending their first year as husband and wife travelling across Canada, South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, South America and North America. Can you think of anything more perfect?

We here at The Bride couldn’t be happier for them.
